Red Rouge

I never really wear red lipsticks often but when I do it is normally for a very special occasion that involves minimal eating and drinking (which makes it un-special actually, doesn't it?!)

Here are four products that give me the perfect red pout.

Top to bottom: Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 024 Red Diva, MUA Luxe Velvet Lacquer in Reckless, Gosh Velvet Touch Lipstick in 60 Lambada and Tom Ford Matte Lipstick in 06 Flame.

Starting with the most luxury and most expensive... Tom Ford Matte Lipstick in Flame. Isn't she a beauty? This is a vibrant warm red that is definitely a matte finish. This one is great for extra special occasions and lasts hours. It is also a great gift for the luxury lipstick lover. This is actually my first ever Tom Ford product and it's a shame I can't wear it everyday because it is a tad bright for my liking.

On the more affordable end of the spectrum, here is the Gosh Velvet Touch lipstick in Lambada. Again, a bright orange red shade but with a creamy finish. It can be matte if you blot it a few times but I don't mind the velvet texture. Also, the packaging is quite Nars-like with the whole matte black thing going on.

I remember when there was a huge hype about the MUA Lip Lacquer's and I was pleasantly surprised. This is in the shade Reckless and it is a liquid lipstick. This does make it a little difficult to apply but if you are going to wear a red lip, you take your time anyways. It is very matte - sometimes borderline drying but it is still a decent red lip option.

And finally, a lip liner. I use this with all the lipsticks and although it appears a little darker, it helps create definition. I like the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Red Diva because you don't have to faff around with sharpeners as it is a twist up pencil. Definitely recommend it for any red lipstick look!

Which one is your favourite?
