Tiramisu Truffles Recipe

As it is bank holiday weekend, I thought another recipe post would be a great way to celebrate. Today I present to you... tiramisu truffles! These indulgent bites of coffee and chocolate flavoured goodness are the perfect treat for those sweet cravings.

Without any further ado, here is the recipe*.

2 cups of dark chocolate chunks
1 cup freshly brewed coffee
30 boudoir biscuits (lady fingers)
1 tbsp instant custard powder
1tsp vanilla extract
1tbsp coffee grounds
230g mascarpone cheese

To start with, melt 1 cup of the dark chocolate chunks into a bowl with the hot coffee.

Whilst that is melting away, crush the lady finger biscuits into small crumbs. You can use the rolling pin and bag method or simply use a blender (your hands will thank you for this!).

Next, in a bowl you can mix together the crushed biscuits, spoonful of custard powder, mascarpone cheese, coffee grounds and vanilla extract.

After the mixture is combined well, roll the dough into balls, place them on a tray and freeze.

When the dough balls have set (should be about 15 minutes), melt the rest of the chocolate and coat the balls in it. For decoration you can sprinkle a little bit of the crushed biscuits on top. Again, pop it in the freezer to set.

Once that is all set - you are good to go. I think these presented in small cases would make great gifts.

Enjoy your tiramisu truffles!
