Current Cruelty-Free Favourites

Finding cruelty-free products only came to my attention more recently, especially after reading posts about other bloggers' favourites. Of course, I am aware of animal testing but I feel like it is a grey area that doesn't really get as much emphasis it should!

I recently watched Hayley's video (Cosmobyhayley on Youtube - watch the video here) and she explained the whole cruelty-free, animal testing, parent companies, veganism thing pretty well!

I'm going to hold my hands up and say that I don't currently actively buy things that are cruelty-free nor am I vegan (I am pescetarian though). I still own a fair few beauty products that support animal testing. However, after discovering a few decent brands and products that are against cruelty of animals, I would definitely consider going completely cruelty-free! I'm going to look into a few different skincare, haircare and of course beauty brands that could replace my current collection. This way I can slowly phase out the animal tested products and have a cruelty-free collection! Do you have any recommendations apart from the products already mentioned below?

First things first, my most favourite find... The Pixi Glow Tonic is a-ma-zing! I was going through a bit of a rough patch with my skin a few months back and after posting my luxury skincare wish list, i decided to bite the bullet and purchase this. It is basically a chemical exfoliator that aims to resurface the skin, keep spots at bay and of course give you a glow! After putting a bit of this on a cotton pad and using it twice a week, it pretty much cleared up my skin instantly and I was so pleased.

When I went to New York in January, I picked up the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream because I'd heard several bloggers talking about how good it is. Setting aside the funny medicinal scent, I really think it does help to hydrate the skin and add moisture without being greasy. I mix this with an oil to act as a super hydrating night time cream and it has worked wonders for me. Funny enough, the label only states that the product is made up on 50% oatmeal... I've heard porridge oats are greats for rehydrating the skin and people make masks out of them but I'm definitely going to give it a go if this product contains exactly that!

Next up, is the Superdrug Extracts Almond and Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner. As I was browsing through the haircare aisle in Superdrug, I was drawn to the beautiful packaging of this product. Look at how stunning it looks! I was shocked to see it was by Superdrug as well and after having a read of the back, it informed me that it was suitable for vegans and vegetarians. I was so intrigued but so glad that I tried it because it not only smells delicious but cleans and hydrates my dry hair so well! They had other formulas and scents to help with other hair types so I recommend trying some out if you haven't already.

For make up, I am loving the GOSH lipstick in Cinnamon. I just love the colour, the formula and it smells like cocoa!! I mentioned this in a post about my favourite lipsticks previously, so you can click here to see swatches and more details about it just so I don't repeat myself too much.

I am also really enjoying applying my foundation with this Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation Brush. I have been on the hunt for some new affordable makeup brushes for a white and saw that they had a few new ones. So I thought I'd try this to see how well it works and it is fab!

And there is just a few of the products I have been using lately! What are your favourite cruelty-free products?
