Trying Out Glossybox

Since watching beauty subscription box unboxings on Youtube and reading a bunch of posts about them, I've always wanted to try out them out myself. I've been meaning to subscribe to a subscription service for a while now but luckily I got the chance to win Glossybox's April edition through a competition that the lovely Millie (from Modish Ramling) was hosting!

Here are my opinions on my first ever beauty subscription box!

First of all, can we talk about the packaging? I'm going through a bit of a pink love affair and this fits my aesthetic perfectly! The box also has a card that explains a little bit about the products, has prices of full-size products, info on where you can buy them and a sneak peak for what's to come in the next Glossybox!

The note from the Editorial Director states that the theme of this months box is products for busy women who are looking for convenient beauty products. So moving on...

.... to looking inside the actual box!

Elgon Deliwash Cleansing Conditioner (RRP £14.50)
This product is a gentle shampoo and conditioner hybrid that is a one stop shop for your everyday showers. It is also free from salts & sulphates that could dry the hair out! I was intrigued by this product as I have quite dry hair, which means I need all the conditioner I can get! Anyway, I tried it, following the guidance provided (use a 50p sized dollop, massaging it in the scalp and lengths for 1-2 minutes) and I was pleasantly surprised. A) I love the smell & B) It actually works! A big yes from me.

MODELCO Contour Stick (RRP £17)
I have yet to try a contour product in stick form so this is pretty perfect! I decided to try it out on my cheekbones, as I am lacking in this department (chubby cheek problems). I found that this product was easy to use and blends well with my makeup sponge. It also provides a subtle contour rather than a full-on Kim Kardashian look, which is actually quite fitting for my look. I love a natural look and this product was fab for that.

MERCI HANDY Love and Hand Cleansing Gel (RRP £2.90)
This little pot of hand gel in the Black Vanilla scent is perfect for on-the-go! I feel like hand gel is underrated but in sticky situations whilst out and about it is a lifesaver! I am not really a big fan of vanilla scents but as it's only a hand sanitiser, I'll look past it!

SPORTFX Shape Up Brow Pencil (RRP £7.99)
Who doesn't love a good brow pencil?! I know I do! This is a retractable double-end eyebrow product. With a pencil on one side and a spooly on the other, it ticks the boxes for me as I look for brow pencils that have a brush at the end. I have the shade Brunette and it is perfect for those with dark hair. It is quite cool-toned but isn't too dark either. So if your looking for a natural everyday brow, this is the product for you.

RODIAL Glamolash Mascara XXL (RRP £24)
Here we have a cute baby sample of a mascara! I have never tried any products by Rodial but I was excited to as I have heard great things. I tried this on a typical day as I was running errands and honestly, it is a great mascara. I am a big fan of Maybelline mascaras so moving onto something a bit more high end, I was sceptical. However, it does a fab job at lengthening my lashes without being clumpy.

And that's my first impressions of Glossybox! I do love the idea of trying new products every month, especially with an affordable price tag. The box is priced at £10 per month (cheaper if you subscribe for longer than 1 month!) and the products in the box were worth £66.39... I think that's a pretty good deal!
