My Current Evening Skincare Routine

I think I've got to the point in my life where I feel slightly more put together... well in terms of my skincare routine at least. A while back I shared with you my problem skin saviours and since then I have been on a mission to narrow down a simple and easy routine - aka not using a zillion different products at a time.

I'm going to be honest from now and let you know that I don't do this routine every single day but probably about three times a week (because I'm a human and I get lazy). And I do switch up a few products here are there depending on my skin situation at the time. But these are the base products that I keep as a guideline for now.

So without any further ado, here is my current evening skincare regime!

CLEANSER: I have been using The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil religiously for the past year or so but it finally ran out! I'm currently trying something new and that is the Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil. I thought it would be good to try a new product and possibly find a cheaper alternative to my previous cleanser. So far so good, it does a good job at removing my makeup including waterproof mascara!

FACIAL WASH: After cleansing I like to use a facial wash. This is to get rid of any makeup that the cleanser may have missed but also to properly cleanse the skin. It is no secret that I love The Body Shop and their Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash is great, especially if you have combination skin.

PRE-MOISTURISER: The Ordinary by Deciem seems to be the topic of several beauty bloggers' posts ever since they launched and I now completely get it! I bought The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 a while back and have been using it as a pre-moisturising step in my routine. It is basically formulated for dry skin and attracts more moisture to be absorbed into the skin. So that is why I use it before applying the moisturiser to my skin.

FACE CREAM: I like something more hydrating for the evenings and the Garnier Moisture Bomb Night Gel Cream. The gel formula means that it isn't greasy or tacky and just sinks into the skin seamlessly. Also as it is targeted towards dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin it is great for the summer when your skin dries out more so than usual.

EYE CREAM: I've been testing some Anatomicals skincare out recently (read the post here) and I have fallen in love with the No Old Bags Allowed Eye Gel. It isn't like other eye creams I have tried and as the name suggests, it is a gel. Like the face cream, this soaks into the skin quickly and seamlessly. Plus you only need to use a small amount of product as a little goes a long way.

LIP BALM: If you are after a super nourishing lip balm that isn't greasy, I recommend The Body Shop's Hemp Lip Protector. I usually reach for this in the winter (when the flaky & chapped lips come out) or for evening use so that it can work its magic overnight!
