My Beauty Favourites From This Summer

I hate to admit it but summer is coming to an end here in the UK. On the plus side autumn is coming which means knits, cosy nights in and hues of orange! Excitement aside, today's post is all things summer beauty and I noticed that I've been reaching for the same products over the past few months. So I figured I'd share some of my beauty favourites from the summer on the blog today.

If you read this post, you'd know I'm trying out the Curly Girl Method. It's been going well, my hair gets better and better with each wash and sometimes it is crazy curly to the point I can't control it! I think it's just a case of finding the right products to help define the curls and keep them looking nice.

After I wash my hair I apply a gel or creme whilst it is still damp so the curls are defined. To help hold the curls I've been using the Shea Moisture Curl Gel Souffle. It's a great gel that isn't too sticky or tacky and doesn't make your hair go crispy. It also smells amazing and a little goes a very long way so this tub should last you a good while! I really like how Shea Moisture products are free from all the nasties like parabens and petroleum, which also helps with bringing back curls and keeping them healthy.

As you may know, my skin is always dry so to add some hydration the Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil is great. This oil makes my skin feel the benefits of an oil without having the greasy feel. It's lightweight formula makes it brilliant for mornings but I use this both day and night.

I like to pop a few drops on my palms and pat it into the skin - apparently this is the best way to apply oils as it maximises the benefits of the products and is most gentle for the skin. You can also add a few drops into your cream and apply it that way.

The Body Shop Skin Defence has been my go-to SPF for the past few summers and this year it was no different. I use this on my face and neck and it just does the job of your bog standard SPF but without the smell - something which I'm not particularly fond of! I haven't been on a summer holiday this year but our British summer wasn't too bad ey? I'll definitely be taking this on my trip later this year (follow me on my Instagram to stay tuned!)

I originally purchased this mask as a gift for my sister as she loves Kiehl's but after using it a couple of times, I knew I needed to get my own! The Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque is a (mouthful to say) fab mask for all skin types. It brightens the skins appearance by buffing away dead skin sells, making you look more radiant and less fatigued - something I definitely need!

I always say I struggle with a bright complexion because of my eczema and dry skin but this mask gives my skin a different type of glow that other masks don't. Highly recommend for both women and men looking for a great all-rounder mask.

I never have much to share about fragrances on my blog but I've talked briefly about this product before, which means it is great! The Body Shop Shea Eau De Toilette is a lovely scent that is really hard to describe! If you are after a scent that isn't overpowering, isn't floral and doesn't break the bank - this might be for you. Head to your local store and give it a whiff!
