A Postcard From Dubai

As you may know if you read this post, we recently went on holiday to Abu Dhabi and Dubai. I blogged about our Abu Dhabi portion of the trip but didn't share what we did when we went to Dubai. So I thought I'd pop up a post about our second part of the holiday.

WHERE WE STAYED

So my husband wanted to surprise me with our hotel and yes, I was definitely surprised! We stayed at the W Hotel on Palm Jumeirah, which I still can't believe. The whole time we were there it felt like we were in a dream, it was unreal.

The hotel is new to The Palm and I'd describe it as a modern, contemporary hotel that is perfect for a honeymoon or couples holiday. The resort has family facilities, like a family pool and buffet hotel but I'd definitely think it is better for adults (unless more family focused facilities are being developed as it is a very new hotel).

The adults pool was nice and relaxing, the music they played wasn't actual songs and was instead sort of upbeat instrumental, which wasn't so loud and in your face. The hotel has a beach too, which is perfect. It felt good to relax near the beach - it's been a while since we've had a chance to do that.

We were on the half-board package but that meant we could eat either breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner at any of the restaurants in the hotel. There were so many options to choose from: Italian, Japanese and Mexican cuisine.

The hospitality at this hotel was just incredible. All of the staff were so attentive and caring to our needs - it was the best experience I've ever had!

DOORS RESTAURANT

So we didn't leave the hotel during our stay because it had everything we needed (i.e. sun, sea & sand) but my husband really wanted to go to a steakhouse restaurant he's heard great things about.

It's called Doors and is in the Al-Seef area. The restaurant offers premium steak, chicken and fish as well as being a shisha cafe. Their presentation was very unique (may not be everyone's taste) but the entertainment, vibe and atmosphere was definitely an experience!

THINGS TO DO

So when we were in Abu Dhabi, we made a couple of trips to Dubai as it is only a 45 minute drive away. During one of the trips we went to Motiongate, which is basically a massive entertainment park and theme park. It's definitely a must-visit if you are in Dubai.

When we were actually staying in Dubai we didn't get up to much since we wanted to relax in the hotel but I've previously visited Dubai and thought I'd share some recommendations of places I've previously visited or are on my wishlist for my next visit!

And that's our trip and my recommendations for Dubai! Have you ever visited?
