What You Need To Survive The Heat

The UK is finally seeing some sun - yay! I always think that summery weather makes everyone so happy. Since it has been so lovely I thought I'd compile a bunch of things that you need to get through the summer months.

This is a collaboration post with another fellow blogger, Ela. Make sure to check out her summer necessities on her blog here.

In the summer your hair can get quite dry so I recommend treating it with some products. The Andrew Barton S.O.S. Help Me is a great leave-in conditioner. I believe this product has been discontinued from his line but I recommend any Andrew Barton leave-in conditioners. Percy & Reed are bringing out a new hair treatment called the Wonder Overnight Recovery. I got this in the June edition of Elle Magazine and it is amazing! This is out on June 1st and I highly recommend grabbing it as soon as you can. For a general day-to-day heat protectant, I swear by the VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray.

A waterproof mascara that will see you through the summer is a must. Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara is brilliant for length, volume and doesn't smudge. A bright red lip is key for a glam evening out. This is the GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Lambada. It is a very creamy formula as has a lovely satin red finish. To mattify the skin and keep it matte, The Body Shop Matte Primer does a fab job.

Skin protection is very important. Always apply SPF and carry it around with you if it is very hot. I love the Garnier Ambre Solaire range for my body and face protection. Also, a cooling mist is perfect for staying refreshed throughout the day. Aftersun is just as important as SPF and helps treat sun burn as well as cooling the skin down.

Body mists are perfect for the summer time. It is a light formula that you can easily travel with and smells great. These two are my current obsessions: The NSPA Raspberry Body Mist and Victoria's Secret Love Addict Body Spray (which has since been repackaged).

A denim jacket can be paired with many outfits and since double denim is back, you can definitely sport that look! A pair of cork heeled wedges is ideal for those summer evenings out or on a beach holiday. A satchel that isn't too big or bulky is great for storing and carrying around your necessities. Mine was from ASOS many years ago but here is a similar one.

Sunglasses are a must! Here is my current collection. I like having a selection so it can go with the vibe of different outfits.

And there are my summer necessities, what are yours?
