Salted Nutella Cookies

On 30th June, Tanya Burr - one of my favourite bloggers FYI - released a baking book called Tanya Bakes! As soon as she began posting photos of her bakes and recipes in the book, I knew I just had to have it, so I did.

The first recipe I tried from the book was the Salted Nutella Cookies. These are absolutely divine and has a great balance with the sweet and salty flavour. My sweet tooth is satisfied and my cravings... well, I just keep craving more to be honest!

Since these were so delicious, I thought I'd share the recipe with you. This is from Tanya's book so if you like this I definitely recommend you check out the book.

200g unsalted butter (at room temperature)
300g caster sugar
1 large egg
325g self raising flour
1 teaspoon flaked sea salt - I used normal table salt and it worked perfectly fine!
200g Nutella

Simply mix all of the ingredients together until it forms a dough. Add the Nutella in afterwards but only swirl it through the mixture.

Section the dough into equal parts (this recipe does make 10 but I made 8 huge ones!) and pop on a baking tray. At this point you can also sprinkle some sea salt flakes on top.

Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 12 minutes.

When they are done, allow them to cool. I added some extra Nutella on the top for some extra indulgent sweetness as well as dusting of icing sugar.

These are the most perfect cookies for the chocolate lover (basically everybody) so I highly suggest you try them ASAP! I can't wait to try more of the recipes from the book.
