Love Beauty & Planet: Coconut Oil and Ylang Ylang Shampoo and Conditioner

A few months back I spotted the Love Beauty & Planet range popping up in my local Boots and I was intrigued as it was under the 'vegan' hair products shelf. I'm not a vegan but I assumed as the products were vegan, it is more natural than other named brands on the shelves. So I decided to purchase the coconut oil and ylang ylang shampoo and conditioner. It just so happens that this range is suitable for hair that needs repairing.

I tested out this product for a whole month and I still have quite a bit left in the bottle - which means a little does go a very long way! I like that the scent is subtle but slightly noticeable. The shampoo cleans my hair from the build up of product throughout the week and the conditioner leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth. It's also suitable for both men and women, in my opinion, as my brother-in-law seemed to love using it too.

The packaging is a great size for the shower or if you are travelling so I definitely think I'll purchase a couple more for when I travel next. The label on the bottle claims that the plastic is recycled, which is great! I don't know why all brands don't do this? It doesn't make a different to the look and feel of the product and is a great switch.

The product is also vegan, as mentioned previously, as well as free from parabens, silicones and colourants making it gentle for your hair. My only niggle I have about this product is that it still contains sulfates - which is terrible for curly hair as it doesn't allow them to be as defined as they could be.

Last but not least, the price of the product isn't cheap. I feel like the prices have actually gone higher since I bought it (or I purchased when it was on offer) and it is now £7 a bottle! This is comparative to the Shea Moisture range - which I love and feel that it has a few more benefits on the 'natural beauty' side of things. However, this range is a great option for everyday use if you have wavy or straight hair or if you don't really care what you use. If you have curly hair, I'd recommend Shea Moisture over this.
