REVIEW: Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush

It is no secret that I am a skincare lover and always looking for new products to add to my collection. So when the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush was gifted to me by my family as a birthday present, I was SO excited to try it out. I’ve heard rave reviews of similar gadgets like the Clarasonic Brush and other versions that brands have bought out so I was very excited to finally be giving one a go!

The Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush is essentially a giant electric toothbrush for your face. It makes exfoliating and daily face washing a lot more fancy and it’s one of those things that isn’t absolutely necessary (like an actual electric toothbrush) but it’s great when you have it.

The brush is a decent size, not too small or fiddly and not too bulky. I like the design, it’s sleek and ergonomic to hold and store. It comes with a stand / charger so you can keep it out in your bathroom or shove it in the cupboard – like I do! The head is detachable and you can purchase different heads for deeper cleansing or gentle cleansing. The one it comes with is both, the main white bristles are gentle and the green section at the top is to get into hard to reach areas and for deeper exfoliation.

I currently use the brush once daily as I quite like my routine and want to keep it similar. I don’t mind whether I use it in the morning or evening, it just depends how my skin is feeling. If it is quite dry or clogged up, I’ll use it to clear that feeling.

I use the brush with the foaming soap it came with but it can definitely be used with any cleanser you own. Starting on my forehead, I manoeuvre the brush on my skin working from the top to the bottom of my face. I do this for about a minute and use a muslin cloth to remove the cleanser afterwards. My skin feels really nice and smooth afterwards.

So overall, I do enjoy the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush. I could definitely live without it but now that I have it I may as well make the most of it! It feels a lot more thorough than just using a scrub or chemical exfoliator so it’s a great tool to have in my collection.
