Recipe: Bang Bang Chicken Pittas With Spiced Yoghurt Sauce

If you are stuck on recipe ideas for tonight, I've got you covered! These spiced chicken pittas with cumin-yoghurt sauce are super easy and quick to put together and taste delicious. They can also be put in burgers, wraps, rice bowls or served on it's own. Without further ado, here is the recipe.

2 chicken breasts, cut into cubes

6 curry leaves
2 garlic cloves, crushed
ginger, grated (same amount as the garlic)
½ tsp salt
¾ tsp pepper
1 tsp turmeric 
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp chilli powder
¾ tsp ground cumin
¾ tsp coriander powder

1 egg, whisked
cornflour, as needed

Wholemeal pittas

Yoghurt Sauce:
4 tbsp natural yoghurt
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp salt

  1. Marinate the chicken in the ingredients overnight or for as long as possible. 
  2. Coat the marinated chicken in the eggs and then dip into the flour. 
  3. Fry in a little bit of olive oil in a pan. 
  4. Turn regularly and once fully cooked (check by poking a knife into the chicken), drain the excess oil on some tissue.
  5. Simply mix the yoghurt sauce ingredients together to make the serving dip.
  6. Add all the ingredients into the pittas and serve!
